Dog-friendly hotel chains sometimes offer dog beds, dog bowls, in-room dog dining and even spa treatments to pamper your pooch. From luxury to budget, hotel chains and boutique hotels all over the world are rolling out the red carpet for your dog. All you need do is search for ‘dog friendly hotels’ and insert your destination. But here’s our pick of dog friendly hotel chains for each region of the world to give you a sample of what’s possible.
Dog Friendly International Hotel Chains
Ibis Hotel
Ibis Hotels are the budget hotels of the Accor Hotel group and are located all over the world with a high concentration in Europe. Your dog or cat is allowed with a surcharge and subject to presentation of a rabies certificate. However, you will need to keep it on a leash in public areas of the hotel and not bring it into the dining areas.
Days Inn
Days Inn is the budget range of the Wyndham Hotel group. These hotels are located in every region of the world. Not all Days Inn hotels allow pets but most do. The dog friendly hotels typically charge a pet fee starting at $10/night. Some hotels have weight limits and limit the number of pets per room.
Ace Hotel
At the Ace Hotel's seven locations (five in the U.S., one in London and one in Panama) dogs are allowed. They charge $25 per night for the first pet; additional pets are either free or cost an additional $10 per night, depending on the location.
Mercure
Mercure is the mid-priced hotel brand in the Accor Hotel group and they are located all over the world with a high concentration in Europe. Many but not all of the hotels are dog friendly and they normally don’t charge additional fees, but pet policies differ from hotel to hotel.
Novotel
Novotel is the luxury range in the Accor Hotel group and they are located all over the world with a high concentration in Europe. Some of the hotels are dog friendly and don’t charge additional fees but pet policies differ from hotel to hotel. Some hotels have size limits, such as the Novotel on Times Square in New York.
HotelF1
A new budget addition to the Accord Hotel group, Hotel F1 is located across France close to railway stations and airports or on the outskirts of cities. They take arrivals 24/7 and have free parking to give you the freedom of the road. HotelF1 is a dog friendly hotel chain.
Travelodge
Travelodge have 500 hotels across the UK, and all of them are dog friendly allowing up to two pets per room.
Best Western
Best Western has more than 1,600 pet-friendly hotels across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. Some offer dedicated places to walk your dog and will provide recommendations on dog-friendly parks, stores, and even dog-friendly restaurants. Not all Best Western hotels are dog friendly, but those that are allow up to two dogs in a rented room, with a maximum size of 80 lbs. per animal.
Holiday Inn
Holiday Inn is a mid-priced range of hotels that are part of the IHG hotel group. Each individual Holiday Inn hotel determines its own pet policy. Those locations that are dog friendly have varying pet fees starting at $10/night. Some have limits on pet size and the number of pets per room.
IHG Hotel Group
The IHG Group includes 14 hotel brands located in every pocket of the world. If you search for dog friendly hotels on their website, make sure you have selected ‘pets welcome’ in the filter section, or go straight to their pet friendly page and search from there. Their International hotel brands include:
- Holiday Inn – most are dog friendly hotels.
- Staybridge Suites – most are dog friendly hotels.
- Regent Hotels – Many are dog friendly. Regent Hotels embraces the character of its location.
- Indigo – Some are dog friendly. A high concentration of hotels are located in USA and Europe. Artsy and unique decor from hotel to hotel.
- InterContinental - Only designated InterContinental Hotels are dog-friendly. International locations.
- Hualuxe – some are dog friendly. They have locations across China.
- Candlewood - dog friendly hotel. USA locations.

- Crowne Plaza - some are dog friendly. USA locations.

Dog Friendly American Hotel Chains
Red Roof Inn
This dog friendly hotel chain has 360 pet-friendly properties across the United States. Only three Red Roof Inns don't accept dogs. Best of all, your dog stays for free!
The Kimpton Hotels, USA
The Kimpton is a luxury boutique hotel chain across the United States and it’s not only dog friendly. Any pet is allowed – no matter its size, weight, or breed – at no extra charge. If it can fit through the door, it’s welcome. The Kimpton has been pet friendly since it was first established in 1981.

La Quinta, USA
La Quinta is part of the Wyndham Group. It is a dog friendly hotel that allows up to two dogs or cats per room at no extra charge. They have more than 800 locations across the US.
Fairmont Hotels and Resorts
Fairmont loves dogs so much that it has its own Canine Ambassador program to welcome guests at some locations. Pet policies vary by property and are available online. At the Fairmont in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. dogs stay free and are spoiled with treats made by the hotel's Executive Pastry Chef. At the Battery Wharf in Boston, pets under 25 pounds cost $25 and receive a pet bed and food and water bowls.
Super 8
Super 8 is Wyndham’s budget range of hotels. Only designated Super 8 hotels are dog friendly. Each location determines its own pet policy. Those that are dog friendly typically charge a pet fee ranging from $5 - $20 per night/pet. Most dog friendly locations allow up to 2 pets.
